Name: Tom and Jenny Krones // Age: 35 and 32, respectively
Hometown: Tom is mostly from Sonoma County and I am from San Diego. We met in San Diego, which is the last place we both officially “lived.”
Current Base: Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
Fun Fact: We left the U.S. on one-way tickets to South America together exactly one year after meeting each other on a blind date.
Meet the Couple : We are Jenny and Tom, we left the United States in early 2011 and have been living a “location-independent” lifestyle ever since. We originally planned on traveling on our savings and coming home to “grow up” and start our careers when it ran out. That is why our blog is called “Till the Money Runs Out.” We ended up starting a company together on the road and have been calling anywhere with an internet connection “the home office” for over five years!

Favorite secret spot in your homeland?
Driving the Highway 1 up or down the California Coast. Tom and I love this road trip and have taken it countless times. It was our first trip together when we had only known each other for a couple of months and we do it at least once a year when we visit the United States. Tom’s family lives near San Francisco and my family is in San Diego so it is a beautiful way to travel between the two areas. There are countless stunning places to stop and it is easy to see why so many artists have been inspired by this stretch of California’s coast over the years. Around every turn is another dramatic ocean view, iconic bridge, wildlife spotting site or small winery surrounded by vineyards.
Suggested Relaxing Destination?
Ubud, Bali. We are currently in Ubud, and it was here that Tom proposed to me a year after we started traveling full-time. Ubud is the epitome of chilled out. It is a gorgeous little town full of yoga, delicious healthy food, and is the art and cultural center of Bali. The people here are relaxed and kind, and the gentle Balinese Hindu religion shapes every aspect of life. The town is also surrounded by vibrant green rice paddies and the island is covered in over a million beautiful temples.
